Born and raised in Peoria, IL (the same hometown of legendary comedic genius, Richard Pryor) his first acting role was playing 'Sonny Latierri' in his high school's production of "Grease." His love for performing garnered a scholarship to study Business Administration-Entrepreneurship at Bradley University while competing for its famed Speech Team. With over 40 national championships, the Bradley Speech Team is the most successful collegiate team in any capacity, including sports (Associated Press). Kamal earned his Equity card with the Nashville Children's Theatre, and since has worked for nationally-recognized regional theaters in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Off-Broadway in New York City.
