Born and raised in the city of Detroit, MI., Shane Carson is the oldest of three children. Carson grew up in the middle class, west side neighborhood of Rosedale Park. As a child, Carson began showing an interest in literature. In fact, he'd always been considered "very bright," by his teachers, and was even offered a double-promotion, not once, but twice by the time he began high school. For the majority of Carson's adult life (early 20's) onward, he has worked for large corporations such as General Motors, AT&T, and others, but eventually ended up resigning from them all. However, before resigning, Carson created and honed for himself a specialization in the advertising and marketing industry, among other things that were gained from his employment with these employers. Ironically, this knack for advertising and marketing that Carson possesses would time-and-time again prove itself to be of great benefit toward the advancement of his acting career Before acting there was a record label. Carson first cut his teeth in entrepreneurship, by first cutting an (record) album. From 2001-2007 Carson was the sole owner and CEO of the indie hip-hop record label, Nexus Records. At its highest point, the label had a staff size and label roster of 15 people, 2 office locations, 4 albums were made, and over 350 live shows were performed. By 2007, because of feeling burnt out with the music scene, Carson officially closed the doors to Nexus Records. Entrepreneurship strikes back, this time in a different form. By 2010, Carson embarked upon another direction in the fulfillment of his life's work, and began creating a career for himself in acting and film producing. Carson claims to never have been as fulfilled as he is now, and says he enjoys every minute of being a film actor. What Carson would consider his "breakout film role" would be the role of, Gunner Team Leader, in the film: Pirate's Code: The Adventures of Mickey Matson. Carson states, "I had always said that whenever I had made enough money from this 'acting thing' to pay for my initiation fees into SAG-AFTRA, I would join the union. Well the Mickey Matson project did that for me... It boosted my confidence, my professionalism, and my expectations of myself and others... along with of course being financially able to join the union." With Shane Carson's wide array of talent and media skills he holds a promising future in the industry. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Susu Tobia
