Kent Jones was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in cities all over Ohio and New Jersey. He is a 1979 graduate of Ohio University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with emphasis in broadcast production. Following a career path through Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and now Oklahoma, Kent has taken every opportunity to pursue his passions in radio, television, and film. On radio, he has hosted morning shows in Indianapolis and Oklahoma City. His daily "Hit Magazine" program in Columbus, Ohio was a finalist in the International Radio Festival of New York - the only non-syndicated program to earn this distinction. In 2011, he launched a 5-hour weekly show "Totally Awesome 80s", and in 2013 a 2-hour weekly show "The 80s Vault" that are syndicated nationally through Fishnet Syndication, of which Kent is a Partner. Kent has worked in several positions at television stations in Ohio and Indiana including staff announcer, cameraman, director, audio engineer, telecine, and on-camera host. Kent has been a voice over artist since his college days when he was a regular performer in "Fox-Paw," a weekly radio comedy series. Since then he has voiced commercials, narrations, film trailers, and IVRs for companies nationwide. Kent's acting ambitions also began at an early age as he appeared in school plays. But his real desire was to act in film. Through the years, he has performed for television commercials, corporate video, and eventually feature films earning his SAG eligibility in 2005 for his role in the film "The Gray Man" and again in 2012 for "Cowgirls 'n Angels." Realizing he also had an eye for video, Kent began directing and producing music videos, commercials, corporate video, and short films. In 2006, he co-produced and edited "Hollywood Photos of Katie Mills," a finalist in the Manhattan Short Film Festival and winner of numerous film festival awards from Hollywood to Florida. His production company, Kent Jones Productions LLC, services a list of clients including business leaders, companies, and individuals with all types of audio and video production. Kent has lived in Oklahoma City since 1988 where he is morning host and Program Director for the legendary KOMA radio. KOMA has been the highest rated Oldies/Classic Hits station in the country. Kent was also named medium market Program Director of the year by Radio and Records magazine. He and his wife, Barbara, were married in 1986.
